2017Los Angeles Museum of PhotographyIdentity Proposal
The Los Angeles Museum of Photography, also known as LAMP, is the city of angels' newest photography museum. Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, LAMP is a small gallery-like museum hoping to break out of the conventional cultural institutional molds.
Unique to its branding, the museum is has a voice, "speaking" with sass, audacity, and a likeness to true angelenos. The work LAMP curates tend to be provocative, bold, and borderline insolent. Defiant to a commonly subdued arts culture, subtlety is not a part of LAMP's repertoire. With the constantly growing youth culture in Los Angeles, LAMP even has specially curated late night events dedicated to the young and courageous.
This is not a museum to be trifled with. Its curation is meant to shock, entice, and provoke—and it will take the cultural institutional world by a storm.
